Saima Khan is the founder and lead dietitian of Resourceful Nutrition.
​
Saima is a Registered Dietitian in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario and a member of Dietitians of Canada. She holds a bachelor's in Applied Human Nutrition from the University of Guelph, as well as a Masters of Health Science in Nutrition Communication from Ryerson University. Through Saima’s 6+ years of post-secondary nutrition education and extensive training in nutritional counselling, she has helped several individuals improve their health through diet and lifestyle interventions. She has experience working with teens, adults, and seniors, particularly with weight management, chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and heart disease), as well as emotional and disordered eating.

Saima’s clients have seen various benefits working with her including reaching and maintaining their goal weight, preventing or managing a chronic disease, overcoming their digestive issues and developing a better relationship with food. Saima uses a non-restrictive dietary approach to help her clients gain the knowledge and skills they need to reach their health goals. She provides customized meal guides and nutrition advice to best suit her client’s unique needs, preferences, and culture which supports them in reaching their health goals. She also considers any barriers and challenges they have and provides practical and realistic recommendations to help overcome them.

Summary of Experiences:
Saima has work experience as a Registered Dietitian in a variety of settings with a complex patient caseload. She is currently working at a multidisciplinary rehabilitation clinic with clients who require nutritional assistance after a vehicle accident. Saima nutritionally supports clients who have gained or lost a significant amount of weight, are newly diagnosed with a chronic condition such as diabetes or hypertension, or struggle with their relationship with food.
Saima has worked at a medical clinic to provide 1:1 nutritional counselling and education to patients who are referred by family physicians for various conditions (e.g. pre-diabetes, diabetes, dyslipidemia, obesity, liver disease, kidney disease, heart disease, eating disorders, nutrient deficiencies, PCOS, healthy weight gain etc.)
Saima has also worked in various healthcare settings as a dietetic intern. For example, She worked at the Brampton Civic Hospital in the rehab, medicine and geriatric departments. Alongside the department RD, Saima helped with the nutritional management of high-risk patient populations (e.g. stroke, cirrhosis, congestive heart failure, malnutrition, failure to thrive, kidney disease etc.).
Additionally, Saima has worked at the Region of Peel, Gordon Food Service, and Prime Care Family Health Team as a registered dietitian in training.
